When: April 1-30th
Where: Mount Vernon, Washington (1.5 hours outside Seattle)
Tulip Farms: RoozenGaarde, Tulip Town, Tulip Valley Farms, Garden Rosalyn

The tulip festival happens in April every year and it is stunning, this makes the perfect day or weekend trip! There are 4 tulip fields that you can buy admission to, and 2 of 4 are dog friendly as of 2023! The fields open at 9am on weekdays and 8am on weekends and you can buy tickets online or in person (cash). It’s popular for good reason and gets crowded, if you can get there at opening you should be some of the first people there and will have unobstructed views of the fields of tulips and daffodils! It’s been a wet spring this year so the last two weeks of April are the perfect time to go to see the tulip fields in full bloom.

Our itinerary: We went early on a Friday to beat the traffic, had breakfast at Calico Cupboard at 8am, and made it to RoozenGaarde to see the tulips when they opened at 9. We stayed for a couple of hours to walk around the grounds, take pictures, and get fresh flowers at the gift shop, then hit Snow Goose Produce on our way out of town for a giant ice cream cone and snacks. If we had more time that day I would have stayed for lunch at one of the places listed below but we were short on time. All in all it was a perfect day, we beat traffic and the sun was out so I’ll call that a win.

Tips:
1. Go on a weekday to avoid the crowds
2. Get there right at opening – 9am on weekdays and 8am on weekends
